T-SAT 2.8

Society for Telangana State Network (SoFTNET/T-SAT) is an initiative established by the Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications of the Government of Telangana State. Its aim is to provide high-quality education by utilizing satellite communications and information technology.

SoFTNET utilizes the GSAT 8 Satellite to broadcast four channels. T-SAT NIPUNA and T-SAT VIDYA cater to the educational needs of distance learners, as well as provide resources for Agriculture Extension, Rural Development, Tele-Medicine, and E-Governance in Telangana.

The mission of SoFTNET is to educate, enlighten, and empower the people of Telangana State through the use of audio-visual technology. They strive to bring the best education and training facilities to all stakeholders in the region.

SoFTNET effectively channelizes various educational and training resources, facilitating renowned faculty members to reach even the most remote institutions. Their training programs cover a wide range of areas including Women and Child Welfare, Rural Development, Skill Development, Health, and Agriculture Extension. These initiatives ensure that end users are well-informed about the latest developments in their respective fields.
